   サリドマイド児の親のドキュメンタリーだったのだが。生まれついて重い障害を負って生まれた息子の為に、親は「サリドマイド児の親の会」を立ち上げて、休日は全て会の活動。「障害者に理解のある社会＝息子の為」との強い信念のもと、息子を連れて積極的にマスコミにも出たり、講演活動も行った。さらに、息子を普通学級に進学させた。息子は重い障害を負いながらも大学に進学。一時は、マスコミにもてはやされた。

   が、大学卒業後、障害を負った息子は何処にも就職できなかった。ここで、息子は生まれて初めて本音をぶっちゃける。「子供の頃から、人前でさらし者にされて辛かった」「休みの日くらい、家族だけで過ごしたかった。家族だけで遊園地や旅行に行きたかったのに」「普通学級になんて行きたくなかった。手の無い俺が、普通学級でどれだけ不自由で辛く、孤独だったか。どれだけ、危険で屈辱的（同級生による排泄介護等）な思いをしたか！」と、延々と恨み言を言い出した。

   で、親が「何で言ってくれなかったんだ！」と反論したら「言ったが、全て“お前のためだ”で済まされた。一度だけ、同じ障害を持つ子供たちがいる養護学校に行きたいと言ったら“負けるな”と説教された」
   「俺みたいな障害を持った子供が、親に見捨てられたら生きていけない。だから、言いなりになっていた」
   「お前たちは“俺の為”と言っていたが、結局は自分たちが社会から注目されてチヤホヤされたかったダケだろう。養護学校に進学した同じ障害を持った連中は、職業訓練を受けて就職して自立しているのに、親の見栄で、普通学級に進学させられた俺は、就職できなかった」
   「俺の障害を受け入れてくれない、見栄っぱりな親のせいで、俺の人生はメチャクチャにさせられた！」

   結局、息子さんは親に対する恨みつらみの遺書を残して自殺。最後に親御さんは「もっと息子の気持ちを考えてやれば良かった」「健常児と同じようにする事が、息子の為だと思っていたが、間違いだった」と嘆いていたな。
